A life drawing day at DRAW is always a day to enjoy. Each session offers a different perspective on the subject. We look at artists who can inform our approach and encourage us to look and draw the human figure in new ways.

We have explored a wide range of drawing materials from the humble pencil, to charcoal, pastel, monoprinting and large scale ink drawings. Lucky dip life drawing means that you sign up for a surprise…and we promise you, whatever the day has in store, it will be an enjoyable learning experience!

Suitable for all levels of drawing experience: if you’ve not done life drawing before, this is an opportunity to learn the basics in a friendly, supportive environment. If you are more experienced, it is a day to experiment and explore new ways of working.

Tutored by Jenny with one of our regular models.

All materials, model fee and tuition included in the cost.

Next Date: Tuesday 30 April  1.30-3.00.

Cost: £5 (no need to book)

An art session for anyone who is living with stroke or caring for someone living with stroke. It is a friendly, relaxed space to come together and be creative. We meet once a month and Jenny leads you through a drawing activity. Please contact jenny@jennypurrett.co.uk if you would like more information.

To book onto my regular weekly classes or try a one off session, email jenny@jennypurrett.co.uk

REFUNDS: Please note that the class sizes are small and consequently my margins are tight. This means that I can only give refunds if you cancel 7 dates before the event which allows time for me to advertise and fill the space. If for any reason, I need to cancel a course (eg. due to illness or adverse weather conditions) you will be given a full refund.

Meet the artists:

Jenny Purrett, artist and educator in equal measures, uses drawing as a means to investigate the world around her. She founded DRAW studios in 2021 in order to share her love of drawing. Her dream was to create a space where people can come together to explore, to experiment and share in the experience of that fundamental urge we all have to make marks.

Artist and teacher Bernadette Koranteng studied at the Royal Academy where she developed a life-long love for Life Drawing. This continues to inspire her work  which is largely figurative, exploring personal narratives and themes.

Although she works in a range of media she sees Drawing as the backbone of everything and strives to share this love of Drawing and mark-making in her approach to teaching.

Printmaker Joanna Bourne has specialised in woodcut for over thirty years. Jo is
inspired by places where nature meets human activity – her garden, the park and
allotments. She is interested in exploring the way in which woodgrain can contribute
to a final design, and prints overlapping layers of transparent inks to create subtle
colours. Jo enjoys passing on her love of printmaking through teaching.
